Dark types though.

Bug moves hit for SE:
Dark
Psychic
Grass

Fighting moves hit for SE:
Dark
Normal
Steel
Rock
Ice

Both hit dark for SE.

Edit: Surprisingly, Meowstic is not able to learn focus blast.

This looks to be the most effective way of using Malamar at the moment. Superpower was a really nice addition for his movepool, and Trick Room helps out a lot too. I was pretty shocked to see that it's oriented toward Attack at first, but it really works. Really excited to see how Malamar fits into the metagame. :>

Nah, that can't be Mega Blaziken's set, it can't hold an item other than Blazikenite. In game, I'd always use Brave Bird over swords dance, but competitively swords dance is a must.

Yeah, I kind of want to see how Topsy Turvy + Psych Up works with contrary! A little gimmicky, but also an amazing counter to any set up sweeper, bar Volcarona

I think the problem with Malamar (in singles, at least. I'm curious as to how he will work in doubles) is that none of his stats particularly stand out. He's not going to be taking too many strong hits to go all out support, and his attack isn't fantastic. Hmm, contrary superpower is pretty cool, though.

Also in agreement with this. Dark/Psychic is cool typing, but his stat layout is completely mediocre, and just bad in some cases. Malamar has a unique appeal, but I feel like it'll end up falling to UU or RU after the initial hype for him dies down.

I have a Zoroark but I'm not really sure what moveset would be the best. Atm I'm running Low Sweep / Calm Mind / Return / Punishment because it's not clear which stats to train him for etc.

Richard and Blaziken

Zoroark usually fairs better as a special attacker with Dark Pulse, Flamethrower, Focus Blast, Nasty Plot/Extrasensory.
