The fact that Nintendo managed to stuff all the data and other stuff into one of these!

How much data can those things store?

An original GB cartridge could hold up to 8mb (depending on the chip in the cartridge) with some games taking up more space on a chip than others. Super Mario Land took 64KB uncompressed. Super Mario Land 2 took 512KB uncompressed. So assuming all of the music files/cries were MIDI files that's less than one and a half MB, with masses of space left to play with with the actual sprites and such that were just reused didn't take a lot.

The reason there is only one save file on Pokemon is because the developers wanted you to nickname all 151 of them. There wasn't enough space to do that across multiple profiles.

Also- The battery in the cartridge keeps the game in an 'on' state permanently, which is how you're able to save the game. The original MCB1 chip games with the CR1616 batteries had a life of about sixteen to nineteen years. So if you've got an original copy of any of the Pokemon games; you're running out of time to play them.

The Gen 2 games onwards used a CR2024 battery, which is good for about forty years.

Should I make this into a separate topic? All everyone seems to be talking about is cartridge size and data storage. I see a potentially long-lasting forum thread.
Thanks to Inferna for one of the many reasons why I love Dragonite!

Though people have been replacing those batteries too, as of late.  I'm not trying to mess with that nonsense though lol that requires stuff like a soldering iron.

That's gotta suck if you want to change your boxes in gen 1 and 2 though.

Coca Cola tastes different depending on where you get it. Interestingly enough Mexican coke tastes almost exactly like Pepsi.

Kpyna

^ definitely true

in italian "coca cola" is almost a tongue twister because they pronounce their c's differently, so you usually hear is referred to as only cola, even when they refer to it in comparison to pepsi.
