There aren't friend requests per sé, but on your profile you have a 'buddy list', and if you add people to that then there names will be bold. There isn't much point in it as far as I can tell, as they aren't notified of it.

But anyway, to do so, click on your name, then on Modify Orofile, then Buddies/Ignore list
