Man, how do y'all feel about snow? I used to love it, but after getting into two car crashes involving that powdery white stuff, as well as just having 3+ feet on the ground right now, I'm slowly growing to resent it.

Last night me and two other people spent a whole 2 hours trying to get my rear wheel drive out of the snow because it kept sliding around on it, public safety threatened to tow my car at my expense (they wanted to plow, that's why I was moving it), and then I finally get out, and drive it to the other side of campus where I have to walk.

Now I finish my 8 am class and step outside, and thick flakes of snow are falling everywhere, and already sticking to the ground. They're forcing me to move my car back into the lot, although I'm willing to bet tomorrow they're gonna want me to move again, back to the lot in the boonies of campus. And since we're supposed to get a fair amount today, I'm sure I'll be stuck shoveling out my car in the very near future again...

Plus the amount we have has made it impossible to go hiking or walk off of any paved paths because in some parts you will sink beyond your knees...

So, what's the snow situation like in your neck of the woods? Or do you just hate happiness and wish you had as much snow as the east coast has right now?

we get like 1 day of snow a year where i live and it barely even sticks it's so sad

i just wanna play in the snow and do snowball fights and stuff and not go to College because it'll be cancelled because England goes into complete meltdown every time we can so much as smell snow approaching but nope we get nothing.
My mom bought me this new laptop and it gets really hot when the chat is being spammed. Now my leg is starting to hurt because it is getting so hot. Please, if you don't want me to get burned, then don't spam the chat.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

sylar

honestly im fine with it because i dont get out much so ?? it doesnt bother me

the one time it did was when i was on a bus ride when it was a blizzard outside and the bus drivers like "THE RIDE IS GOING TO BE VERY DANGEROUS HAVE A NICE TRIP" and i spent the whole ride just screaming internally and praying the snow would melt and wed be fine

the christians gave me
comic books as if i would
be scared of burning in hell
while i was already there

Usually I'm down for a snow day or two, but this year so far I've had 5 days of classes cancelled for snow. It's fun when it's just a couple classes you miss, but it becomes not fun when your professors are trying to make up for missing 4 or so classes by cramming as much material into one lesson as possible... and all having tests on that crammed material all in the same week.

And sylar I know what you're talking about with the bus thing. Used to happen to me all the time when I was in public school. I can recall some times where our bus got stuck and we needed to call a rescue bus... or our bus sliding a little bit past stop lines and red lights.

When it gets a little warmer my friends and I are gonna make an igloo with all the snow though. I wish I could have a snowball fight, but my school will get you in trouble if you throw snow at people.

We had a blizzard last night and it kept me awake until around 5 AM. That blizzard is still happening, university's closed. I think I should care about it more than I do, but I'm too tired.
When it comes down to it, the difference between healing and necromancy is timing.

Quotemy rear wheel drive out of the snow

FWD is the win in these kinds of conditions.

We've had some flurries, but being the British Isles it tends to go as quickly as it arrived. A bit like Carly Rae Jepsen.

tell me about it... unfortunately when you live in snow country they're more valuable and if you're a student, getting one will cost you an arm, leg, and a kidney.

I have never seen snow fall. I've been to the mountains after it snowed, but there wasn't much. Mostly ice.

While on the subject of weather, today will be a nice 32°C on the USA's west coast. Because "winter? What's that?".

In Manchester there's only rain, so when it does snow it just turns to slush and it's horrible. I do like a couple days of really nice snow though, it's fun. :)

Dorchadas

I'm lovin this weather. I could do with this much snow year round.

man I always seem to miss the snow it's not fair =[

although that being said if we got it here now I'd be expected to shovel it out of the way of the entrances / exits at work rather than get the day off which doesn't sound fun

Shaymin

it snowed like two? ish weeks ago and i had to walk to class in it (ie, more than a mile) and it was in my face and eyes and i was so upset and annoyed because snow in the eyes is not fun

basically snow is great until u have to be out in it and then it is not great. then it is evil in pure, cold white form

Lord Raven

i miss snow, stupid ass arizona and its not-crappy weather

At least it snowed during my winter break though!  Although it's snowing now in Maryland and I'm sad :(

See, in Europe they're pretty much the norm due to safety legislation. Thought 4x4 would be more valuable. RWD is infinitely more fun though.

For those that aren't aware: The weight of the engine pushes down on the front (driven) wheels, ergo: More traction.

When it belts it down with snow here everything comes to a standstill. If you live in Norway or Finland the temperature is always below 0 degrees (32F for you colonials). In the UK it goes above and below, so a small bit of the snow melts during the day when it's warmer and sinks to the bottom where it freezes during the night when it's colder resulting in the most dangerous ice since Ice Cube was an NWA member.

Snowed over the Beacon and the Malverns a couple of weeks ago. 'Twas nice.

That seriously isn't funny.

Well, i'm almost always out in the cold every day for a good amount of time, and it's taking its toll on me. The snow and ice is melting, so that's nice.
