Ok so i'm sitting here making leedle noises right now cause of chronic knee pain and i don't wanna take painkillers, and I'm wondering how you guys deal with joint pain? Any sort really; growth, sports injuries, just general ache. I doubt many of you have arthritis and can share your chronic joint pain stories but if you can, then go ahead!

I'll probably complain a lot in this thread too as I get tested for arthritis lol

Kpyna

after the crash i mostly just laid in bed and sighed a bunch without moving. painkillers didn't really work for me, so i know your pain...

With sport I'd just ice the pain and try not to exert too much. If it's regular joint pain it could be caused by a number of factors so until the doctors clearly say what it is I dunno the best ways to properly help =/

When the cold causes my knees to hurt, I'll just sleep it off.

When I hurt my shoulder in the gym - and that was a pain that I wouldn't want to relive - I just went and worked it back into not hurting.

I remember when my neck locked on Saturday and I just stayed in bed for three days.

lets all go out for some frosty chocolate milkshakes

smoke a joint lol

no but it depends on whether its Arthritis for sure or a tendon/muscle problem

like im not sure what it is in my case (aint really investigated much cos i got enough more important Investigations goin on atm) but i think i have a bit of awkward hypermobility around my knees anyway which dont mix too well with the Clumsiness and im convinced im gonna snap off my own legs at the knee one day lmao

anyway in most cases ur lookin at rest and heat and anti-inflammatories, ive heard good things about naproxen but NSAIDs are not a gr8 primary strategy due to the stress they put on the liver and also ur stomach in general, usually you need to look into some sort of physical therapy to compliment it and if it gets real bad then you get the prednisone injections!!!! hurray!!!! pain management therapy is good if you can get it cos you REALLY dont wanna go down the opiod downward spiral and end up with fibromyalgia (its theorised currently that fibromyalgia is a kind of opiod withdrawal dysfunction + unsolved stressors)

knee braces are also good for Added Support when ur out and about, if it weren't for wrist braces i never woulda made it through my last year of uni hahahah
at least u can hide kneebraces, u can see my spacko gauntlets in my graduation photo haha

so deffo invest in one or maybe two

i mean it mostly depends on whether u have the arthritis or some sort of joint pain (or even the erlos-daner)  and whether its reactive, chronic, deteriorative etc. etc,

cos if it's deterioative then you need to Take It Easy and have lots of Joint Helpin stuff (aint really investigated Glucosamine cos its too expensive to get stuff that isn't 2HCl (i.e. watered down) but i find pickled ginger and omega-3 helps a little)

if its reactive then u end up needing to look into stuff like Stress Management and relaxation techniques

i mean im skippin to like Prognosis Aftercare here so a lot of this might seem like nonsense but yeah deffo find out whats going on first

I've got muscle knots in my right shoulder that are causing some discomfort. Deep Heat gel usually does the trick
