How do I delete this song from my Ipod?

I'm on the verge of smashing my Ipod against the wall right now!

Ok, before I do that, I suppose I'm going to have to explain a little bit of a backstory.

Years ago, back when I was in primary school, I used to listen to songs on my school bus. One particular song became a favourite of mine for a while. After leaving primary school, as I didn't own the tape, I wasn't able to listen to the song any more and simply forgot about it. Many years passed and I found myself thinking about the song again and found it on Itunes when searching for it. I downloaded it, not realising that once I'd synced my ipod, the song (whether I wanted it to or not) synced as well.

How do I remove the song from my Ipod?

I only downloaded it for nostalgia reasons, I don't want it to be on my Ipod any more.

What type of iPod is it?

Touch, Classic, Nano, etc.?

Okay, find the song in your music library on the iPod. I can't remember if 6th Gen has the three dots on the end of each song, if it does press that and select delete. If not, swipe on the song and a red delete button should come up. Press that.

I can get the delete button to appear for other songs, just not the one I want to delete.

If that doesn't work then go into your iTunes, find the song and then untick it. Connect your iPod to your computer / laptop and on the device part on iTunes you be able to make it only sync selected songs (I do this for my phone and iPod because of space). This would stop it being synced onto the device.

I finally got rid of it, for now anyway. Not sure if it'll get put back on once I sync again.

If you don't want it back on whenever you sync again, just choose the option where you can decide what songs you decide to sync. I know that I'm doing that as I bought this 5 set CD in the spring and uploaded all the songs onto my iPod only to discover that literally all the songs were either rerecordings or recorded live and sounded horrible. There was even one song that was two different CDs and both were the same version! Only a few songs sounded good and close to the original.
