If they could stuff so much stuff in a small cartridge, then they could have given each Pokemon a different cry, instead of using a similar cries for some Pokemon that are just other Pokemon cries, but just with parts taken out or the sound of it being edited.

^He has a point there.

I find it mildly interesting that you can witch time Little Mac's KO punch.

I notice that teachers find opportunities during lessons to tie in their political beliefs to the material that they're covering. Every politician in the race right now has one of my teachers supporting him/Clinton.

to be fair supporting trump and cruz is kind of a crappy thing to do

it's pretty easy to support someone who basically isn't promising to destroy our country

Ditto and poliwag have the exact same cry. Gen 1 has loads of cries that are similar, but Nintendo were actually too lazy to make a separate (or at a similar cry from another pokemon) cry for poliwag??? Or ditto???

Actually it had more to do with the space limits.  What happened was that there are in actuality only 37 unique cries in Red/Blue, so many Pokemon actually had similar cries but with something slightly different.  For instance, some cries would actually remove a sound channel but otherwise be the same cry as another Pokemon, some others were sped up, some others had higher/lower pitch, etc.

Generation 2 wasn't any better, utilizing 30 more unique cries.

Some other examples of Pokemon with almost exactly the same cries:  Rhyhorn/Charizard, Machop/Omanyte, Caterpie/Goldeen, Wigglytuff/Poliwhirl, etc.

If anyone is curious, there's a very in-depth article about this in Bulbapedia.

I've watched this scene from star wars rebels a few times now and I only just noticed that Kanan uses a mind trick on Ezra at about 46 seconds into this video.

Vileplume and aerodactyl have similar cries.

Paras and mew.

Parasect and mewtwo.

I found a video of it.

Can anybody tell what pokemon cry is at the very beginning?

Some lawsuits that were filed or planned with ironic facts to them. First is Mattel suing Aqua for the song Barbie Girl only to use it for awhile in actual Barbie ads and toys with some changes ten years later. Second is Gary Coleman planning on suing Avenue Q writers for their portrayal of him even though he was offered the role before he never came to the meeting to cast him and Gary clearly knew what the musical was about since he was interested in being in the musical.

I enjoyed reading that! Thanks (:

For anime fans: there's not just yanderes, but there are yangires too. Yanderes will go to the extent of killing people if they're obstacles to get with their love interest, but yangires will just kill people randomly. Shion Sonozaki and Rena Ryuugu are good side-by-side examples of this!

this is pretty cool

QuoteMost Pokémon will only say their names and communicate using those syllables. For example, Ash's Pikachu has been known to use the three syllables in the word "Pikachu" in various combinations to refer to several characters, including Ash (Pikapi), Misty (PiKachupi), Brock (PikaChu), Dawn (Pikaka), Togepi (Pipipi), Team Rocket (Pipikachu), Bulbasaur (Pikakapika) and "My name is Pikachu" (Pika, Pikachu).

So yangire means Serial Killer?
