Mega Rayquaza + Z Move = OVERKILL!
« on: November 17, 2016, 13:12 »
I've read on another forum that this may be possible, considering Rayquaza doesn't need a mega stone to mega evolve. If it is, would anyone use it?

Dragon Ascent could theoretically be powered up with a Z crystal.

It doesn't work. Rayquaza can't mega evolve if it's holding a Z Crystal.

Yeah, the Z-move button and Mega-evolution button occupy the same slot, and the Z-move takes priority (i.e. if you can both Mega and Z-move, only the Z-move button shows)

However, as far as I can tell, if you Trick a Z-crystal onto an already mega mega-Ray, he can then use a Z-move. Assuming Z-crystals can be tricked, bulbapedia doesn't say they can't, but it seems like something that could be excluded.

Z-Crystals can't be tricked, they work in a similar manner to Mega Stones in that they can't be removed from a Pokémon by using a move.

That's lame, thought that might be the case, bulbapedia needs to hurry up and update for gen 7 haha. I take it by the same logic Knock Off doesn't work either?

Yeah, knock off doesnt work, ive experienced that one first hand. Seems fair considering z crystals already dont work like regular items in that you can attach one to multiple pokemon.
